ABOUT US
Paws and Claws was started in 1997 by
Melissa Dahlberg as an all-breed professional pet
grooming salon, on the north side of I-94. In June 2005
they moved to their new location on O'Neil Road.
Tari Nestrud joined the team in September 2005,
expanding the facility to over 5000 square feet and
adding pet daycare, overnights and training. She took
over grooming operations in January 2006 and continues
to expand the business.
Tari started grooming in 1988 and is a Certified Master
Groomer, also having taught at two pet grooming schools
and has participated in and placed at grooming
competitions. Her background includes two teenagers; Ben
(17) and Meg (15), former owner of a full-line pet shop,
two grooming salons, has taught obedience classes and
done in-home training for obedience and behavior
modification.
In her "free time" she also shows dogs in breed
conformation, has helped trained hunting dogs and
currently competes with her German Wirehaired Pointer,
Kix, in AKC Field Trials for pointing breeds. Tari also
has Tennessee Walking Horses that she raises and trains
and chickens that she enjoys getting fresh eggs from.
She has two Standard Wirehaired Dachshunds, CH Ragtyme
Turbo Charged, affectionately known as Torque, who
finished his show championship in January 2008 at less
than one year old! And Oakley who keeps her company when
the other dogs are gone at competitions.
Paws and Claws has been a dream come true for Tari and
has grown into a much larger reality than originally
anticipated, thanks to the wonderful reception it has
received from the pets and their owners in Hudson
surrounding communities. She has now expanded with a
second location in Stillwater which opened December 2007
and again has been well received thanks to many existing
clients already in the area and all the wonderful new
people and pets that have joined the fun.
